Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited (BHAVINI) is a premier Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, involved in India's nuclear power programme. BHAVINI is building and operating the 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam. Under Notice No. BHAVINI/HR/TA-V/2026-2027, applications are invited for engagement of Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1991, on a stipend basis only.

A total of 50 Trade Apprentice posts are on offer across nine trades. The category-wise break-up of the total vacancies is SC/ST - 9, OBC (NCL) - 13, EWS - 5, and UR - 23.

BHAVINI Trade Apprentice Important Dates

Applications received after the last date, for any reason, will not be considered. Candidates should first register and complete Aadhaar verification on the apprenticeship portal well before this deadline, since the physical application must be posted in time to reach BHAVINI's office by 1 October 2026.

BHAVINI Trade Apprentice Salary / Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a minimum stipend of Rs. 9,600/- per month, applicable to those engaged after completing a one-year ITI course. The apprenticeship engagement is on a stipend basis only, for a training period of one year.

BHAVINI Trade Apprentice Selection Process

The notification outlines the following stages for selection:

• Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for training based on marks obtained in their ITI standard/course and trade competency.
• Trade Test / Certificate Verification: Shortlisted candidates found suitable must appear for a Trade Test and Certificate Verification. Candidates bear their own related expenses for attending this.
• Medical Examination: Engagement is subject to qualifying the standard medical examination prescribed by the Competent Authority.
• Police Verification: Since BHAVINI is a highly protected area, apprentices are permitted only after submission of Police Verification by a Sub-Inspector or higher-ranked officer, obtained prior to joining the training.

BHAVINI Trade Apprentice Physical Fitness Standards

How to Apply for BHAVINI Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026

• Register on the apprenticeship portal: Interested eligible candidates must first register at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in ↗ for enrolment as an Apprentice. Applications will not be accepted without this registration and the unique registration number it generates.
• Complete Aadhaar verification: Complete Aadhaar verification of the enrolment on the apprenticeshipindia.gov.in portal, and attach a screenshot of the "Aadhaar verified" status (hard copy) along with the application. The Unique Enrolment ID must be provided in the application; applications missing this will not be processed further.
• Download the application form: Download the Application Form (Annexure-I) from the BHAVINI website, bhavini.nic.in ↗. Before applying, candidates should confirm their eligibility for the specific trade they are applying for.
• Fill and prepare the application: The application should be submitted in the prescribed proforma, preferably typed on A4-size paper. The outer cover should be superscribed: "APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF TRADE APPRENTICE against Notice No. BHAVINI/HR/TA-V/2026-2027".
• Attach self-attested documents: Enclose self-attested photocopies of the required certificates (listed in the Documents Required section below).
• Send the application by post: Send the duly filled application, with a passport-size photograph affixed, to: Deputy General Manager (HR), Recruitment Section, Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited (BHAVINI), Kalpakkam - 603102, Chengalpattu District, Tamil Nadu.
• Meet the deadline: The filled-in application must reach BHAVINI on or before 1 October 2026. Applications received after this date will not be considered for any reason.

Documents Required for BHAVINI Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026

• Educational qualification certificates (10th, 12th mark sheets, as applicable)
• ITI Certificate and Mark Sheet
• Other qualification / experience certificates, if any
• Conduct Certificate from two Gazetted Officers or from the concerned institution (originals; an application with only one conduct certificate will not be entertained)
• Community certificate for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates
• PWD Certificate, if applicable
• EWS Certificate, if applicable
• Certificate of Identity issued by Competent Authority (only for Transgender candidates)

General Conditions

• Candidates should submit only one application, in the prescribed format only.
• Candidates who have already undergone Apprenticeship Training, partially or fully, for one year or more in any discipline need not apply.
• Candidates selected for training will not be allowed to withdraw except for reasons beyond their control; those who leave on their own are liable to refund the full cost of training and the stipend received.
• Every apprentice who completes the training period must pass a test conducted by the National Council for Training in Vocational Trades to receive a Certificate of Proficiency.
• There is no obligation on BHAVINI to provide employment to apprentices on completion of their training.
• Management reserves the right to cancel or alter the number of seats in a particular trade, or the entire engagement process, without assigning any reason.
• Preference will be given to applicants belonging to villages neighbouring the plant site; such local candidates must produce valid identity proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving Licence/Ration Card) at the time of document verification.
• Incomplete applications, or those without the required self-attested certificate copies, are liable to be rejected without any communication.
• As BHAVINI is a highly protected area, apprentices will be allowed to join only after submitting a Police Verification Certificate from a Sub-Inspector or higher officer.
