CMWSSB Graduate Apprentice and Technician Diploma Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Graduate Apprentice

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications in the relevant engineering discipline:

• A full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a statutory university.
• A full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an institution empowered by an Act of Parliament to award such a degree.
• A graduate examination conducted by a professional body and recognized by the Central or State Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.

Technician Diploma Apprentice

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications in the relevant engineering discipline:

• A full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education.
• A full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a university.
• A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by an institution recognized by the Central or State Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.

• The candidate must belong to Tamil Nadu.
• The relevant Degree or Diploma must have been completed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or May 2026.
• The candidate must hold a full-time qualification in the relevant engineering discipline.
• The candidate must be registered on the NATS portal.
• The candidate must enter the qualification percentage correctly in the NATS profile.

The following candidates are not eligible to apply:

• Candidates who have already completed NATS or NAPS apprenticeship training.
• Candidates who are currently undergoing NATS or NAPS apprenticeship training.
• Candidates possessing one year or more of work experience.
• Candidates who do not belong to Tamil Nadu.
• Candidates who completed the qualification before 2022.

The age limit will be followed according to the applicable Apprenticeship Rules. The notification does not provide a separate minimum or maximum age.

The apprenticeship training period will be one year under the Apprenticeship Amendment Act, 1973.

Completion of the apprenticeship does not create any right to regular employment in CMWSSB. The organization is not obligated to offer employment after the training period.

The official notification does not mention an application fee.

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Shortlisting based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed Degree or Diploma qualification.
2. Notification of shortlisted candidates through their registered email address.
3. Certificate verification at CMWSSB, Chennai.

No written examination or interview is mentioned in the notification.

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates will be followed according to the Apprentices Act and applicable government rules.

Candidates claiming reservation must produce a valid certificate in the prescribed government format. BC and MBC candidates claiming OBC Non-Creamy Layer reservation must produce an OBC-NCL certificate in the approved format.

For Candidates Already Registered on the NATS Portal

1. Visit the NATS 2.0 portal ↗.
2. Log in using the registered email address and password.
3. Open the “Apply Against Advertised Vacancies” section.
4. Search for “Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.”
5. Open the establishment with user ID STNCHS000035.
6. Check the qualification details and click the Apply option.
7. Confirm that the application status shows “Applied.”

For First-Time NATS Registration

1. Visit nats.education.gov.in ↗.
2. Select the Student option.
3. Click Student Register.
4. Complete the registration and application form.
5. Obtain the 12-digit NATS enrolment number.
6. Log in using the registered email address and password.
7. Open “Apply Against Advertised Vacancies.”
8. Search for “Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.”
9. Select establishment user ID STNCHS000035 and apply.

• B.E. or B.Tech. provisional certificate or consolidated mark sheet for Graduate Apprentice applicants
• Diploma provisional certificate or consolidated mark sheet for Technician Apprentice applicants
• Percentage of marks or CGPA conversion details
• Community certificate, where applicable
• OBC-NCL certificate, where applicable
• Disability certificate, where applicable

Candidates must enter their qualification percentage in the “% of Marks/CGPA x 10” field on the NATS portal. Applications without the percentage of marks will not be considered.
