Level 2 Posts

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

• Passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate; or
• Passed Matriculation from a recognized board with a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship for technician categories; or
• Passed Matriculation from a recognized board with an ITI qualification approved by NCVT for technician categories.

The requirement of 50% marks in Class 12 is not applicable to SC, ST and ex-servicemen candidates or candidates possessing qualifications higher than Class 12.

Level 1 Posts

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

• Class 10 pass; or
• ITI or an equivalent qualification; or
• National Apprenticeship Certificate granted by NCVT; or
• Class 10 with ITI; or
• Class 10 with a National Apprenticeship Certificate granted by NCVT.

Candidates must satisfy all the following Scouts and Guides requirements:

• Must be a President’s Scout, Guide, Rover or Ranger, or a Himalayan Wood Badge holder in any section.
• Must have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last five years.
• Must possess a Certificate of Activeness in the prescribed format.
• Must have attended two events at the National Level or All Indian Railway level.
• Must have attended two events at the State Level.

Additional Age Relaxation

• Serving Railway employees with the prescribed continuous or broken service may receive relaxation up to 40 years for UR, 43 years for OBC and 45 years for SC/ST candidates.
• Widows, divorced women and women judicially separated but not remarried may receive relaxation up to 35 years for UR, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST.
• Eligible Jammu and Kashmir domiciled candidates may receive five years of relaxation.
• Eligible Casual Administrative Office staff may receive age relaxation according to the prescribed conditions.
• Ex-servicemen will receive relaxation according to applicable service and category rules.

Age Limit for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities

The application fee must be paid online through the payment gateway. Candidates who apply separately for both Level 1 and Level 2 must pay the applicable fee separately for each application.

The recruitment carries a total of 100 marks and consists of the following stages:

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Candidates recommended for appointment must satisfy the prescribed medical classification of Bee Two and above for posts identified by Southern Railway or Integral Coach Factory.

• Scanned copies of Scouts and Guides qualification certificates.
• Certificate of Activeness and details of attended events.
• Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets.
• Proof of date of birth.
• Community certificate, where applicable.
• Age-relaxation certificate, where applicable.
• Fee-exemption certificate, where applicable.
• Recent passport-size colour photograph in Scouts or Guides uniform.
• Scanned signature.

• The photograph should be recent and not older than three months.
• It must show the candidate in Scouts or Guides uniform with a clear front-facing view.
• The photograph should be in JPG or JPEG format at 100 DPI.
• The prescribed photograph size is 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm.
• The file size should be between 50 KB and 100 KB.
• The signature should be made on white paper in black ink.
• The signature file should be in JPG or JPEG format at 100 DPI.
• The signature file size should be between 10 KB and 40 KB.

2. Open Employment Notice No. RRC-01/S&G/2026-27.
3. Read the detailed eligibility conditions and application instructions.
4. Complete the online registration using an active mobile number and email address.
5. Select Level 1 or Level 2 and enter the required details.
6. Upload the prescribed photograph, signature and supporting certificates.
7. Pay the applicable examination fee through the online payment gateway.
8. Review the application carefully and submit it before 18 October 2026 at 11:59 PM.
9. Save or print the submitted application and payment receipt for future reference.

• Candidates may apply for both Level 1 and Level 2 if they satisfy the respective eligibility requirements.
• A separate application and examination fee must be submitted for each level.
• Candidates should maintain an active personal mobile number and email address throughout the recruitment process.
• Applications with incomplete information, an invalid photograph or an invalid signature may be rejected.
• Original certificates must be produced during document verification.
• Admission at every recruitment stage will be provisional and subject to eligibility verification.
• Canvassing, impersonation or submission of false documents will lead to disqualification.
