VKIDFT Teaching Assistant Recruitment 2026

A walk-in interview for one Teaching Assistant in the Department of Computer Science will be held on 20 November 2026 (Friday) at 11.00 AM, with candidates reporting at 10.00 AM at the Dean’s Chamber, Verghese Kurien Institute of Dairy and Food Technology (VKIDFT), Mannuthy P.O, Thrissur – 680 651. The institute is part of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU). The engagement is on daily wage basis for a maximum period of 360 days, at Rs. 2,200/- per day subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/- per month for persons with qualifications as prescribed by UGC / Statutes, and Rs. 1,800/- per day subject to a maximum of Rs. 45,000/- per month for others.

Essential Qualification

In the absence of NET/PhD qualified candidates, candidates without NET/PhD who possess B. Tech and M. Tech in the above subjects will be considered for appointment. However, the engagement of such candidates shall be limited to 179 days or one academic session, whichever is shorter.

Preference will be given to applicants who furnish a declaration of willingness to act as Resident Tutor in the hostels of VKIDFT.

Age Limit

The age limit is not more than 50 years. The application form attached to the notice asks for the candidate’s age as on the date of advertisement. The notice does not mention any age relaxation.

Pay

Nature and Length of the Engagement

• The engagement of Teaching Assistant is purely provisional and on daily wage basis, for a maximum period of 360 days.
• For candidates selected without NET/PhD, the engagement is limited to 179 days or one academic session, whichever is shorter.
• The engagement as Teaching Assistant on daily wage basis will be governed by the relevant university rules and regulations from time to time.

Candidates report at the Dean’s Chamber, VKIDFT, Mannuthy at 10.00 AM on 20 November 2026. The walk-in interview is conducted at 11.00 AM the same day, and the originals brought by candidates are used for verification.

• The engagement shall stand terminated upon unauthorized absence / leave period extending beyond 15 days.
• The engagement will be terminated on short notice or when a regular hand or candidate recruited through Employment Exchange joins, whichever is earlier.
• The engagement shall not entitle the candidate to any claim for future permanent posting in KVASU.
• The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the post notified, without assigning any reason whatsoever.
