Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is an autonomous society under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, engaged in research and development in generation, transmission, distribution and operation of electricity supply systems. CPRI acts as an apex body for applied research in electrical power engineering and serves as an independent authority for testing and certification of power equipment. Its head office is in Bangalore, with units at Bhopal, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Noida, Kolkata, Guwahati and Raipur.

CPRI has notified a total of 110 vacancies (provisional) across the following 10 posts.

The category-wise (UR/SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) break-up of these vacancies is given in the official notification. CPRI has clarified that the number of vacancies is provisional and may be increased, decreased or modified depending on actual requirements.

CPRI Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

All educational qualifications must be from a University/Institution/Board recognized by the Government of India and/or approved by UGC/AICTE/State Government, as applicable.

CPRI Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The minimum age to apply is 18 years. Age, qualification and category will be reckoned as on the closing date of the online application, i.e., 12.10.2026. Upper age limit is relaxable as per Government of India norms.

All posts also carry service benefits such as Leave, LTC and medical benefits as per Government of India norms applicable to CPRI employees. Probation for all posts is initially for 2 years.

SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen/women candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee. Any bank transaction charges or processing fees for online payment must be borne by the candidate. Applications without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected.

In the event of a tie in CBT score or valid GATE score, the tie is resolved by placing the older candidate (by date of birth) higher in the merit list. The venue, date and time for the CBT/Trade Test/Skill Test will be intimated through the admit card/call letter.

• Valid self email ID and mobile number
• Recent (not more than 3 months old) scanned passport-size colour photograph
• Scanned signature in black ink against a white background
• SSLC/SSC/Matriculation certificate and marks card (proof of date of birth)
• Degree/Diploma/ITI trade certificate and marks cards of all years/semesters, and GATE score card where applicable
• Experience/service certificate, where required, with supporting proof such as EPF/UAN history, bank statements or Form 16
• Caste/category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) and disability certificate for PwBD candidates, where applicable
• NIELIT Basic Computer Course (BCC) certificate, for Assistant Gr. II candidates
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer, for candidates already in Government/PSU/Autonomous Body service
• Discharge certificate and Ex-servicemen ID card, for Ex-servicemen candidates

1. Visit the official CPRI website, https://cpri.res.in/ ↗.
2. Go to the online registration system for Advertisement No. CPRI/06/2026.
3. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
4. Fill in the online application form accurately, selecting the correct post and category.
5. Upload the scanned photograph, signature and all required certificates in PDF format.
6. Pay the prescribed application fee online, where applicable.
7. Review the application carefully, then submit it before 12.10.2026 (05:00 PM).
8. Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

• Only Indian Nationals aged 18 years and above are eligible to apply.
• Candidates can apply for more than one post, but must submit a separate online application, fee and documents for each post.
• Multiple applications for the same post will result in rejection of all such applications.
• Furnishing false, tampered or fabricated information can lead to disqualification at any stage, including after appointment.
• Online applications, once registered, cannot be withdrawn, and the fee once paid is non-refundable except in case of cancellation of the recruitment itself (only the fee is refunded, not other expenses).
• Examination centres are Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Delhi and Kolkata; CPRI reserves the right to allot any centre.
