DCCM Nilgiris Technical Assistant Recruitment 2026

The District Climate Change Mission, The Nilgiris district, is filling one Technical Assistant post on contract basis at Rs.22,000 per month. Only residents of the Nilgiris district may apply. The official notification does not specify the application fee.

The District Climate Change Mission (DCCM) is the district-level climate mission of The Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu, working with the Department of Environment and Climate Change (DoE&CC) of the Tamil Nadu Government at the State level. The Technical Assistant post is being filled under G.O. (2D) No.144, dated 16.09.2026, released by the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Tamil Nadu Government. Its office for applications is at the District Forest Office, Nilgiris Division, Ooty.

Educational Qualification

• Undergraduate Degree in the field of Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife, Public Policy and Similar Fields.
• Basic Type Writing skills in both Tamil and English.
• The Tamil version of the notice also lists basic computer knowledge and skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint as necessary.

Experience

Experience is not compulsory. Candidates who have work experience for at least one year may be given first priority.

Residence

Candidates must be residents of the Nilgiris district.

Age Limit

A candidate may not exceed the age of 40 while applying for the post of Technical Assistant. The notice does not mention any age relaxation.

Pay and Allowance

In addition to the monthly pay, a travel allowance of Rs.25,000 per year is provided. The Tamil version describes this as a travel head for official travel connected with the mission's environment and climate change work, as per Government rules.

The notice lists these roles and responsibilities for the Technical Assistant:

• Promote coordination and synergy among line departments for effective environmental protection and climate action.
• Coordinate DCCM activities, organize capacity-building programmes and document successful climate initiatives.
• Act as a link between DoE&CC at the State level and the District Climate Change Mission at district level.
• Conduct DCCM Meetings once every two months and submit the Minutes of Meeting to the Government through the Director, DoE&CC within 15 days.
• Review innovation, monitor existing schemes and plan upcoming activities and stakeholder engagement during each meeting.
• Maintaining Government records.

The Tamil version also mentions collecting climate change and environment data, preparing reports, official letters, statistics and PowerPoint presentations, coordinating meetings, trainings, seminars and awareness programmes, and carrying out work assigned by the District Climate Officer/Director.
