Applications go by email to the Principal Investigator. The notice says the documents may be sent this way, as one PDF file:
- Get the application form. The notice says it is available on the website.
- Put together a brief bio-data, duly signed, along with the filled application form.
- Add proof of date of birth, and the BE./B.Tech and M.E/M.Tech mark sheets and degree certificates.

If there are many applications, the Principal Investigator may limit the number called for interview, based on the Screening Committee's recommendations. This would take into account qualifications and experience above the minimum prescribed.

- Interview mode: The interview will be "in-person" or "via video conferencing", whichever suits DIAT. Shortlisted candidates will be told which.
