ESIC Senior Resident (3 Years Tenure) Recruitment 2026

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, has invited applications for 88 posts in 28 roles under Advt No. 512A/12/SR/JR/IMOs/Rectt-01/2022/ESIC/KKN-Part(1). The posts include Senior Resident - Chest, Senior Resident - ENT, Senior Resident - Medicine, Senior Resident - Radiology and 24 more. Selection is through a walk-in interview on 17 November 2026.

The posts are for ESIC Medical College and Hospital, K.K. Nagar, Chennai. Qualification required: Postgraduate degree MD/MS/DNB, or M.Sc with Ph.D in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology or Microbiology, in the relevant department, as per NMC Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions 2025 read with MSR/PGMER 2023. Super-speciality departments: DM/MCh/DNB/DrNB first preference, MD/MS/DNB in listed broad specialities second preference. The pay is Level-11, basic pay Rs. 67,700 plus allowances; gross about Rs. 1,61,814 a month (September 2026). The application fee is NIL for SC/ST/PWD/Women Candidates & Ex-Servicemen. Selection is by scrutiny of applications and document verification, screening test (MCQ) if turnout exceeds 1:10 per post and walk-in interview before the Selection Board. Other conditions:

• Private practice of any kind is not allowed
• Government employees must submit a No Objection Certificate at the interview
• Reserved category certificates must be issued before the date of interview
• PwD reservation only for disability of not less than 40% certified by a Medical Board

• Candidates who have already worked as Senior Resident under the 3 years Central Residency Scheme for 3 years

Senior Resident engaged at ESIC Medical College & Hospital may be assigned duties such as attending emergency, floor duty and other clinical duty as assigned by the Competent Authority, and performing duties in other departments as assigned by the competent authority.

• Tenure of 3 years subject to satisfactory annual performance evaluation; no extension beyond 3 years
• Contractual agreement on a stamp paper of Rs.100/-
• Security deposit of Rs. 30,000/- by DD at joining, forfeited if the candidate leaves within one year
• Contract can be ended with one month's notice or one month's emoluments
• No right or preference for regular appointment; no PF, pension or other service benefits

Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of 'ESI Fund Account No.1' drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Chennai, submitted with the application form.

• Scrutiny of applications and document verification
• Screening test (MCQ) if turnout exceeds 1:10 per post
• Walk-in interview before the Selection Board
• Applications scrutinised by the scrutiny committee; only eligible candidates attend the interview
• If turnout exceeds 1:10 per post, a screening test of multiple choice questions in the concerned discipline may be held
• Top five from the screening test will be called for the interview
• Screening test marks are not linked to final selection
• Selection solely on performance in the interview before the Selection Board

• Identity proof and address proof
• Date of birth certificate (10th Certificate/Birth Certificate) and Class 10th & 12th mark sheets
• MBBS, MD/MS/DNB and experience certificates as applicable; internship completion certificate
• Registration with NMC / State Medical Council
• Reservation category certificate in Government of India format; NOC if applicable
• Two recent passport size photographs and Demand Draft for Rs.500/-

1. Fill the prescribed application form (Annexure C) attached to the notice; other formats or incomplete forms are rejected.
2. Paste a self-attested passport size photograph on the form.
3. Get a Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- in favour of 'ESI Fund Account No.1' payable at Chennai, if applicable, issued after the date of the advertisement.
4. Report for document verification on 17.11.2026 between 09.00 AM and 11.00 AM with the filled form, DD, original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies.
5. Candidates whose documents are verified attend the walk-in interview.
6. A separate form and DD are needed for each additional department where more than one is allowed.

• Candidates may apply for only one post, except Emergency Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, ICU and super-speciality departments
• No candidate is entertained for document verification after 11.00 AM
• Change in interview date, if any, will be intimated on the website only
• No TA/DA for interview or joining
• Candidates already working in the institution must submit prior intimation and not attend the interview while on duty
• Result will be published on www.esic.gov.in/recruitments
