IAF Hindi Typist Recruitment 2026

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced Hindi Typist Recruitment 2026 for 1 Group C civilian vacancy under Advertisement No. 04/2026. Candidates who have passed Class 12 and possess the required typing speed can apply offline. The post carries Pay Level 2 under the 7th CPC, and applications must reach the designated Air Force unit within 30 days from publication of the advertisement.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized Board and possess the prescribed computer typing speed.

• 12th Class pass from a recognized Board.
• Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English on computer, or
• Typing speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer.

The typing requirement is based on 10,500 key depressions per hour for English or 9,000 key depressions per hour for Hindi, calculated using an average of five key depressions per word.

Can 12th Pass Candidates Apply for IAF Hindi Typist?

Yes. Class 12 is the minimum educational qualification. However, applicants must also meet the typing requirement, age criteria, reservation conditions and other rules specified in the notification.

Is a Graduation Degree Required?

No. The advertisement specifies Class 12 as the minimum educational qualification. It does not require a graduation degree.

The prescribed age limit is 18 to 25 years. Age is determined as on the last date of receipt of applications.

Eligible OBC candidates can receive three years of relaxation in the upper age limit, making the applicable upper limit 28 years for qualifying OBC applicants.

The notification also refers to relaxation for eligible SC/ST/EWS/PwBD/ESM candidates under applicable Government rules. Candidates must verify the relevant provisions and reservation eligibility before claiming any relaxation.

The Hindi Typist post carries Pay Level 2 under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

What Is the IAF Hindi Typist In-Hand Salary Per Month?

The starting basic pay under Level 2 is Rs. 19,900 per month. Actual gross and in-hand salary depend on applicable allowances, posting location and statutory deductions. The recruitment advertisement does not provide an exact monthly take-home amount.

Candidates should not confuse the starting basic pay with the final in-hand salary.

Is Hindi Typing Compulsory for the IAF Hindi Typist Post?

The recruitment notification does not specify an application fee. However, applicants must enclose a self-addressed envelope with a Rs. 10 postage stamp as instructed in the advertisement.
