Other conditions:

• Candidates employed in Central/ State Government, Autonomous Bodies, PSUs or Government-funded institutions should apply through proper channel.
• Selected candidates may be required to work in laboratories, service areas, residential/ campus facilities and shifts.
• Each Post Code represents one vacancy. Separate application must be submitted for each Post Code.

Desirable:

• Electrical: Lineman (MV) certificate/ licence awarded by Electrical Inspector of State Government. Industrial experience in electrical maintenance.
• Mechanical/ Refrigeration & Air Conditioning: Sound knowledge/ experience in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and air compressors.
• Mason: Relevant experience in institutional/ residential/ hospital/ commercial buildings.

Tradesman (Electrical) (2 posts)

Qualification required: SSC/ 10th with minimum 60% marks OR HSC/ 12th with Science & Mathematics, together with ITI/ Trade Certificate of at least one year duration in Electrician Trade. The upper age limit is 25 years and the pay is Level 2 Pay Matrix of the 7th CPC.

Tradesman (Electrical/ Electronics) (1 post)

Qualification required: SSC/ 10th with minimum 60% marks OR HSC/ 12th with Science & Mathematics, together with ITI/ Trade Certificate of at least one year duration in Electrician/ Electronic Trade. The upper age limit is 25 years and the pay is Level 2 Pay Matrix of the 7th CPC.

Tradesman (Mechanical/ Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) (1 post)

Qualification required: SSC/ 10th with minimum 60% marks OR HSC/ 12th with Science & Mathematics, together with ITI/ Trade Certificate of at least one year duration in Mechanical/ Refrigeration & Air conditioning Trade. The upper age limit is 25 years and the pay is Level 2 Pay Matrix of the 7th CPC.

Tradesman (Mason) (1 post)

Qualification required: SSC/ 10th with minimum 60% marks OR HSC/ 12th with Science & Mathematics, together with ITI Certificate/ National or State Trade Certificate of at least one year duration in Mason Trade. The upper age limit is 25 years and the pay is Level 2 Pay Matrix of the 7th CPC.

• Two years probation, subject to applicable rules.

The notification does not mention any application fee.

• Written examination and/ or screening
• Trade/ Skill Test
• A Trade Test shall be mandatory.
• Trade/ Skill Test will assess practical knowledge, safety awareness and hands-on proficiency relevant to the advertised trade.

• Detailed scheme/ syllabus will be notified on Institute website

• Self-attested copies of educational qualifications
• ITI/ trade qualification certificate
• Experience certificate
• Date of birth proof
• Category certificate where applicable

1. Submit application in the prescribed application form available on the Institute's website.
2. Attach self-attested copies of relevant certificates and documents.
3. Superscribe envelope with 'APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TRADESMAN - [TRADE NAME] [POST CODE]'.
4. Send by post to The Director, Institute of Physics, P.O. Sainik School, Bhubaneswar - 751005, Odisha on or before 10/ 11/ 2026.
5. Send it on or before 10 November 2026.

• Eligibility determined as on the last date for receipt of applications.
• Experience prescribed shall be counted after obtaining the requisite qualification.
• Relevant ITI/ Trade Certificate shall be of not less than one year duration.
