Kalakshetra Foundation Semi - Skilled Worker Recruitment 2026

Kalakshetra Recruitment 2026 is for 2 Semi Skilled Worker posts (Group C; UR-1 and SC-1) in the Craft Education and Research Centre (CERC) of Kalakshetra Foundation (कलाक्षेत्र प्रतिष्ठान). The Foundation is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. Applications go by post only, in the Annexure – I proforma, to the Director, Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai. They must reach by 05.30 PM on 23 November 2026 (Monday). Applications that arrive late or come by email will be rejected.

1. Use the prescribed proforma given as Annexure – I of the notification ("Application for the post of SEMI SKILLED WORKER in CERC").
2. Fill in the form with a blue or black ball point pen. It asks for:
   • your name in block letters
   • your category (SC / Gen) and whether a self-attested SC certificate is attached
   • your mother's and father's names, your address, two mobile numbers and your email
   • your Aadhar number (optional), your PAN, your date of birth and your age as on 23-11-2026
   • your nationality and gender
   • your Class X and Class XII details (year of passing, marks % / CGPA, board)
   • your years of experience in block printing and in use of vegetable dyes, with the institution, post, nature of duty and period for each
   • why you consider yourself suitable for the post
3. Paste one recent passport size photograph on the application form.
4. Put one more passport size photograph in a separate cover. It will be used on the call letter.
5. Sign the declaration, and write the place and date.
6. Attach self-attested copies of the testimonials listed under Enclosures below.
7. Write "Application for the post of 'Semi Skilled Worker'" on the cover that holds the application.
8. Post it so that it reaches the Director by the deadline.

The notice advertises one post, Semi Skilled Worker (Group C), with 2 vacancies. The number of vacancies may vary depending on the vacancies that exist at the time of final selection.

Age Limit

Applicants must be not more than 25 years old as on the closing date, 23 November 2026. SC candidates get a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. Departmental candidates get no relaxation in the upper age limit. Age is decided by the date of birth written in the application form and recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate. No later request to change it will be considered.

Pay

The Semi Skilled Worker post is at Pay Level 1 of the 7th CPC (Rs 18000 - 56900).

The checklist printed with the notice lists these documents:

Candidates applying against the reserved (SC) post must submit the community certificate from the competent authority. Without it, the claim will not be admitted. Applications sent without self-attested copies of the documents will be summarily rejected.

Selection has two phases: first a Skill Test, then a Written Test for those who qualify in the Skill Test. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the tests. Meeting the eligibility criteria alone gives no right to selection.

Written Test Syllabus

The notice gives this syllabus "broadly as under":

Merit List and Tie Rule

Separate merit lists will be prepared for the UR and SC categories, based on marks in the theory test. Appointments will be made from these lists. If candidates tie in the combined score of the written test and skill test, the tie is broken in this order:

1. Date of birth: the older candidate is placed higher.
2. Alphabetical order of names.

Document Verification

Candidates called for Document Verification must bring the originals of all relevant academic certificates, such as mark sheets, as proof that they had the minimum educational qualification on or before the cut-off date. Otherwise their candidature will be cancelled. Passing the examination gives no right of appointment unless Kalakshetra Foundation is satisfied, after any enquiry it considers necessary, that the candidate is suitable in all respects.

• Travel allowance: candidates must arrange their own travel and stay in Chennai if the written test (if any) or skill test runs beyond one day. No travelling allowance is paid for attending the tests.
• SC candidates are entitled to reimbursement of a single II class railway fare from their normal place of residence to Chennai and back. For road journeys between stations not connected by rail, they may be allowed the actual bus fare or road mileage at the lowest rate under the Government of India TA rules, whichever is less. This applies only when the road distance is more than 32 km each way.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• All improper applications will be summarily rejected.
• Any candidate found using malpractices at any stage of the examination will have their candidature cancelled and will be debarred from the recruitments of KF.
• Kalakshetra Foundation reserves the right to cancel, restrict or modify the recruitment process without giving any reason. No correspondence will be entertained about the conduct or result of the test, or about why a candidate was not called.
• The Foundation's decision is final and binding on eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, penalty for false information, mode of selection, conduct of examinations and final selection.
• Any dispute is subject to courts/tribunals having jurisdiction in Chennai.
• If any information is found suppressed, false or incorrect, or any ineligibility is found before or after the examination, the candidature or appointment is liable to be cancelled. This is stated in the application form's declaration.
