KF Librarian Recruitment 2026

Kalakshetra Recruitment 2026 is for one Librarian post (Group B, UR) at Besant Arundale Senior Secondary School, which belongs to Kalakshetra Foundation (कलाक्षेत्र प्रतिष्ठान). Kalakshetra Foundation is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. Send your application by post on the Annexure-I proforma to the Director, Kalakshetra Foundation, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. It must reach the Director by 05.30 PM on 23 November 2026 (Monday). Applications sent by email will be rejected.

The official notification does not specify the application fee.

Kalakshetra Foundation calls itself an Institution of National Importance. It is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, and its postal address is Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai – 600 041. Besant Arundale Senior Secondary School (BASS School), where the Librarian will work, is a school of the Foundation.

Applications are accepted by post only. Applications received through email, or received after the closing date, will be summarily rejected.

1. Fill in the application in the prescribed proforma given in Annexure-I of the notification. Use a blue or black ball point pen.
2. Paste one recent passport size photograph on the application form.
3. Put one more passport size photograph in a cover. It will be fixed on the call letter.
4. Sign the declaration and fill in the place and date.
5. Attach self-attested copies of the testimonials (see Enclosures below).
6. Write on the cover: "Application for the post of 'Librarian, BASS School'".
7. Send it by post to: The Director, Kalakshetra Foundation, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai – 600 041. It must reach by 05.30 PM on 23 November 2026 (Monday).

The application form asks for these details:

• Name in block letters, category, and mother's and father's names
• Address for communication and two mobile numbers
• Email address, Aadhar number (optional) and PAN
• Date of birth, and age as on the closing date (23-11-2026)
• Nationality and gender
• Educational qualifications from Class X onwards (Class X, Class XII, Graduation, Post-Graduation, BLIS, MLIS), each with the year of passing, marks % / CGPA and board/university
• Relevant experience in library management and related activities: the number of years, and for each job the institution, post, nature of duty and the from/to dates
• Knowledge of Indian languages (to speak, read and write)
• Why you consider yourself suitable for the post
• Any other information you wish to add

Kalakshetra Foundation says the number of vacancies in the notification may vary, depending on the vacancies that exist at the time of final selection.

Essential Qualification

• MA from a recognised University or equivalent
• Bachelor of Library Science from a recognised University or equivalent
• Five years' experience in a library attached to Central/State Govt institution or a special library of similar nature

Desirable Qualification

• Master degree in Library Science from a recognised University
• Knowledge of Library automation
• Ability to read and understand Sanskrit and other south Indian languages
• Ability to read music notations

You must have the minimum educational qualification on or before the cutoff date. The result of that qualification must be declared by the Institute or University before the closing date of this recruitment.

Age Limit

The age limit is not more than 27 years as on the closing date, 23 November 2026. Kalakshetra Foundation accepts only the date of birth written in the application form and recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate. No later request to change it will be considered. No relaxation in the upper age limit is available for departmental candidates.

The checklist in the notification lists these documents to send with the application:

• Application form with a recent passport size photo, with every column filled in and signed by the applicant
• One extra passport size photo in a cover
• Copy of Aadhar
• Proof of all educational qualifications mentioned in the application
• Proof of age
• Testimonials for teaching/working experience
• Caste Certificate, if age relaxation is claimed
• Certificate of disability, if age relaxation is claimed for Physically challenged
• Other relevant certificates/testimonials for the essential and desirable qualifications
• The relevant document for a scribe, if one is required

Applications without self-attested copies of these documents will be summarily rejected.

Meeting the eligibility criteria does not by itself give a right to selection. Kalakshetra Foundation will shortlist applicants, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for the written test / skill test. The Foundation will publish the scheme of examination on its website later.

• Written test and skill test: merit is based on the combined score of the written test and the skill test.
• Tie cases: if two candidates have the same combined score, the older candidate (by date of birth) is placed higher. If they are still tied, the alphabetical order of their names decides.
• Documents Verification: candidates called for Documents Verification must bring the original academic certificates as proof that they had the minimum educational qualification on or before the cutoff date. These include the Mark Sheets for all years / semesters of Diploma / Graduation, and the provisional certificate / Diploma Certificate. Without them, the candidature will be cancelled.
• Suitability: passing the examination gives no right to appointment unless Kalakshetra Foundation is satisfied, after any enquiry it considers necessary, that the candidate is suitable in all respects.

• Kalakshetra Foundation reserves the right to cancel, restrict or modify the recruitment process without giving a reason.
• No correspondence will be entertained about the conduct and result of the test, or about why a candidate was not called for the test.
• Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
• All improper applications will be summarily rejected.
• A candidate found using malpractices at any stage of the examination will have the candidature cancelled and will be debarred from the recruitments of KF.
• No travelling allowance is paid for attending the written test / skill test. If the process runs beyond one day, candidates must arrange their own travel and stay at Chennai.
• The declaration in the form states that the candidature or appointment is liable to be cancelled if information is found to be suppressed, false or incorrect, or if ineligibility is found before or after the examination.
• The decision of Kalakshetra Foundation is final in all matters, including eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection and final selection.
• Any dispute about this recruitment will be subject to courts/tribunals having jurisdiction in Chennai.
