NIT Calicut Apprentice Trainees Recruitment 2026

There are a total of 30 vacancies available for Graduate and Diploma Apprentice positions. The post-wise break-up is given below:

A. Graduate Apprentices

B. Technician Apprentices (Diploma)

Only candidates who have obtained the prescribed qualification in regular mode, on or after 01st January 2022, shall be considered eligible. The qualification must be obtained from a University/Institution in India or a State Board recognized by the competent authority.

Candidates possessing a Master of Library and Information Science (M.Lib.Sc.) shall be eligible only if they have completed their Bachelor’s Degree on or after 01 January 2022 with a minimum of 60% marks.

Candidates who have already created an apprenticeship contract with any Government or private organization/institution under NATS are not eligible for apprenticeship training.

The upper age limit as on 21 October 2026 varies by post level and category:

The stipend comprises two components: the Government Share (equivalent to 50% of the applicable minimum stipend prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, amended effective 11 September 2025) disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and the Institute Share borne and paid by NIT Calicut.

The notification does not mention any application fee.

The applications received will be scrutinized and eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on the information furnished in the application. Shortlisted candidates may be called for document verification and/or written test and/or interview, as decided by NIT Calicut.

• Shortlisting is based on information furnished in the application; any discrepancy found at any stage will lead to disqualification.
• Candidates must produce all relevant original documents at the time of document verification.
• Selected candidates must execute a Contract of Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.
• Apprenticeship training is confirmed only after the Apprenticeship Contract is created in the NATS portal and approved by NATS.
• The engagement is purely a training engagement for one year and does not confer any right or claim for regular employment or appointment in NIT Calicut.
