Oil India has announced 32 vacancies for Superintending Research Scientist, Senior Officer (Mechanical), Senior Officer (Petroleum), Senior Accounts Officer / Senior Internal Auditor, Hindi Officer (Official Language), and Confidential Secretary posts under its 2026 recruitment drive. The notified pay scales range from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 2,20,000 depending on the post. Eligible Indian nationals can submit their online applications from 15 October 2026 to 14 November 2026. The selection process consists of a Computer Based Test (CBT) scheduled for 28 December 2026, followed by a Personal Interview or Proficiency Test / Skill Test.

Oil India Superintending Research Scientist Category-wise Vacancy 2026

Upper age limits vary by post and category as on 14/11/2026:

Age Relaxation

• Domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989: 5 years relaxation.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): As per Government Directives.
• Ex-Servicemen: 5 years relaxation.
• Internal candidates of OIL: Upper age limit is 54 years.
• Candidates having Ph.D. in relevant discipline: 3 years age relaxation for posts under Table II & III.
• Maximum upper age limit after all relaxations shall not exceed 54 years.

Besides Basic Pay and Industrial pattern of DA, benefits include HRA or Company leased/self-lease accommodation, free medical benefits for self and dependents, Gratuity/PF, House Building Loan, Vehicle Loan, and Group Insurance as per company rules.

Application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online via SBI e-Pay Lite Payment Gateway.

• For Grade A & Grade B Posts (Table I & II): Computer Based Test (CBT) carrying 100 marks (85% weightage) and Personal Interview (PI) carrying 15 marks (15% weightage).
• For Grade A Posts under Table III (Hindi Officer & Confidential Secretary): Computer Based Test (CBT) carrying 100 marks (100% weightage for merit) followed by a qualifying Proficiency Test / Skill Test (100 marks, qualifying marks 50 out of 100).

The total duration of the Computer Based Test (CBT) is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is provided to PwBD candidates.

• Qualifying Marks for CBT (Grades A & B - Table I & II): 50 out of 100 for UR, OBC(NCL) & EWS posts; 40 out of 100 for SC, ST & PwBD posts.
• Qualifying Marks for CBT (Table III): 50 out of 100 for UR and OBC (NCL); 40 out of 100 for PwBD.
• Final Score Formula (Grades A & B): (CBT Marks obtained out of 100 × 0.85) + PI Marks obtained out of 15.

• Superintending Research Scientist: Conducting research, analytical, experimental, and technology development activities including laboratory, pilot-scale, field validation, and scale-up studies; designing, executing, and evaluating research projects; operating laboratory and pilot plant equipment; ensuring HSE compliance.
• Hindi Officer: Implementation and promotion of Official Language (Rajbhasha) policies; translation of official documents between Hindi and English; monitoring and reporting on Official Language implementation.
• Confidential Secretary: Managing confidential correspondence, scheduling and coordination of meetings, handling office documentation, liaison with internal and external stakeholders, and proficiency in Shorthand and transcription.

2. Click on the registration link to fill up Personal Details and Contact Details.
3. Verify Mobile Number and Email ID using the separate OTPs sent.
4. Re-login using the received User ID and Password to complete Step-II, filling in Personal, Additional, Communication, and Qualification Details.
5. Upload scanned digital image of recent passport-size photograph (100 KB to 200 KB) and signature in black ink (80 KB to 150 KB).
6. Preview the application form and submit it before final redirection to SBI e-Pay Lite payment gateway.
7. Pay the applicable application fee and take a printout of the submitted Application Form for future reference.
