BARC - Technician/B (Animal House Attendant) Recruitment 2026

The walk-in interview is on 5 November 2026 (Thursday). Candidates report between 12.00 and 12.30 hrs at Conference Room No. 1, Ground Floor, Behind BARC Hospital Library, BARC Hospital, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094, and the interview starts at 14.00 hrs. The Radiation Medicine Centre (RMC) of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Government of India, is filling two posts of Technician/B (Animal House Attendant) on a locum/adhoc (temporary) basis. The pay is ₹11,730/- per month + D.A. (pre-revised) as admissible for Technician/B.

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is a Government of India research centre. The Radiation Medicine Centre (RMC), which is running this recruitment, is part of BARC's Medical Group. Its address is T.M.H. Annexe, Parel, Mumbai - 400012. The posts are in RMC's Animal House Facility. RMC, BARC has two (02) posts in the grade of Technician/B (Animal House Attendant). The educational qualification, as printed, is: "Minimum 60% in SSC or HSC with minimum of 60% in aggregate (with Science and Maths) + Trade Certificate of One (01) year duration." Some experience in an Animal House Facility is preferable, but the notice does not make it compulsory.

Candidates must be not more than 50 years old as on 30 June 2026. The pay is ₹11,730/- per month + D.A. (pre-revised) as admissible for Technician/B. Each appointment is for not more than 89 days at a time, for a maximum of 2 terms. The post is locum/adhoc and temporary. The Animal Care Attendant will be responsible for the overall care of the animals and for other routine and project-related work in the Animal House Facility. The duties include:

• Daily feeding and watering of the animals, and cleaning and autoclaving of cages, bottles, racks, etc. in the animal colony.
• Maintaining all records of the facility.
• Helping during animal experiments, such as restraining and handling the animal for injection of radioisotope, drugs, radio-pharmaceuticals or any other medication.
• Cleaning and dusting tables, bench work tables, instruments, etc.
• Any other facility-related work, or any emergency duties of the Animal House Facility, whenever required.

1. Report to Conference Room No. 1, Ground Floor, BARC Hospital, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094 between 12.00 and 12.30 hrs on 5 November 2026. Application forms are given out only in this window. No forms will be given out after 12.30 hrs.
2. Fill in the application form there. Attach the xerox copies, photographs, etc.
3. Hand in the completed form before 12.45 hrs. Forms will not be accepted after 12.45 hrs, and only candidates whose completed forms are handed in on time will be interviewed.
4. If more than 10 candidates attend, the candidates for the interview will be chosen by the highest percentage obtained in SSC.
5. The interview starts at 14.00 hrs.

• Selected candidates will have to get a medical certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.
• Selected candidates will also have to get a Police Verification Certificate.
