DLL Technician (Diesel) Recruitment 2026

Directorate of Lighthouses & Lightships (DLL), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, has invited applications for the post of Technician (Diesel) under Advt No. 07/2026. Applications are to be sent offline and must reach the organisation by 23 November 2026.

The posts are for Chennai, Any Light house station including remote and island locations. Qualification required: Passed Matriculation or equivalent with apprenticeship or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with experience. The pay is Level-5 (29200-92300). Selection is by written test comprising PART-A General Knowledge/Aptitude Test and PART-B Technical and trade test for successful candidates from written test. • Qualification: Passed Matriculation or its equivalent. Should have served as an apprentice for atleast four years in a reputable firm or in a Central or State Government establishment.; OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Experience: Two years practical experience in installation, maintenance and overhauling of Diesel generator sets, Air Compressors, Battery Chargers etc.
• Age limit: 21 to 30 years (as on closing date)

• Liable to be transferred anywhere in India including Andaman & Nicobar / Lakshadweep Islands

• Candidates awaiting results of the final examination
