GMRC - Deputy General Manager; Deputy General Manager and More Recruitment 2026

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited, a 50:50 Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat, invites applications for 13 posts in eight designations: Deputy General Manager (Civil-Safety and Civil - QA/QC), Assistant Manager (Civil-Safety and Civil-QA/QC), Section Engineer (Civil-Safety and Civil-QA/QC), Engineer – Sr. Grade (M&P) and Engineer – Jr. Grade (Signalling). The posts are on Contract/Deputation/Post-superannuation basis for a minimum of 3 years, extendable up to 5 years based on performance. Pay is on revised IDA scales from ₹30000-120000 to ₹70000-200000. Applications are online in the Careers section of www.gujaratmetrorail.com and the last date is 18 November 2026.

The official notification does not specify the application fee.

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited is a 50:50 Special Purpose Vehicle jointly owned by the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat. It is entrusted with the implementation of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project and the Surat Metro Rail Project and with their operations and maintenance. This is a recruitment by a government-owned company, on contract, deputation or post-superannuation terms.

The notice lists 13 vacancies in total. It states that the number of posts may vary based on further assessment of requirements. No category-wise break-up is printed.

Every post needs a degree from a Govt. recognized University/Institute and post-qualification executive experience. The table gives the educational qualification and the preferences; experience, age and current-pay conditions follow post by post. Age limits and experience are reckoned as on 3 November 2026.

For all posts, the notice gives preference to candidates who have worked in Gujarat State for at least 3 years and are conversant with the Gujarati language. The engineering qualification must be from a Govt. recognized University/Institute, as the notice states.

Deputy General Manager (Civil-Safety) – 2 posts

• Experience: post-qualification relevant experience in safety of civil works of major infrastructure projects.
• Applicants working in IDA/CDA scale: minimum 8 years of post-qualification executive experience in Government/Semi-government/PSU/Metro Rail Corporation, of which 6 years should be relevant. OR applicants from a private organisation: total 10 years of post-qualification executive experience in civil engineering related private infrastructure industries other than the above, of which 6 years should be relevant.
• Age: 45 years for contract basis, 57 years for deputation, 62 years for post-superannuation basis.

Deputy General Manager (Civil - QA/QC) – 1 post

• Experience: minimum 8 years of post-qualification executive experience in Government/PSUs, of which 6 years should be relevant. OR total 10 years of post-qualification executive experience in civil engineering related infrastructure industries other than the above, of which 6 years should be relevant.
• Age: 45 years for contract basis, 57 years for deputation, 62 years for post-superannuation basis.

Deputy General Manager – current pay conditions (both posts)

• Applicant presently working in IDA pay scale of ₹ 70000 - ₹ 200000 or higher, OR in Level 10 or equivalent CDA pay scale under the 7th CPC; OR at least 2 years' experience in IDA pay scale of 60000-180000 OR in pay Level 9 or equivalent CDA pay scale under the 7th CPC.
• For post-superannuation basis: the applicant should be presently working or retired from IDA pay scale ₹ 70000-200000 or above OR in Pay Level 10 or equivalent CDA pay scale under the 7th CPC.
• Applicants from the private sector: minimum CTC of ₹ 1,00,000/- per month.

Assistant Manager (Civil-Safety) – 4 posts

• Experience: post-qualification relevant experience in safety of civil works of major infrastructure projects.
• Applicants working in IDA/CDA scale: minimum 5 years of post-qualification executive experience in Government/Semi-government/PSU/Metro Rail Corporation, of which 4 years should be relevant. OR applicants from a private organisation: total 7 years of post-qualification executive experience in civil engineering related private infrastructure industries other than the above, of which 4 years should be relevant.
• Age: 35 years.

Assistant Manager (Civil-QA/QC) – 1 post

• Experience: relevant experience in Civil Construction QA/QC. Minimum 5 years of post-qualification executive experience in Government/PSUs, of which 4 years should be relevant. OR total 7 years of post-qualification executive experience in civil engineering related infrastructure industries other than the above, of which 4 years should be relevant.
• Age: 35 years.

Assistant Manager – current pay conditions (both posts)

• Presently working in revised IDA scale ₹ 50000-160000 or in Level 6 or equivalent under CDA scale in Govt/PSU/Metro Rail Corporation; OR
• at least 2 years in revised IDA payscale, either in non-executive grade ₹ 46000-145000 or in Executive grade of 40000-140000, or in Level 5 or equivalent under the 7th CPC scale in Govt/PSU/Metro Rail Corporation; OR
• at least 4 years in revised IDA payscale, either in non-executive grade ₹40000-125000 or in Executive grade of 35000-110000 or equivalent CDA scale in Govt/PSU/Metro Corporations.
• Applicants from the private sector: minimum CTC of ₹ 70,000/- per month.

Section Engineer (Civil-Safety) – 2 posts

• Experience: post-qualification relevant experience in Project Safety/Civil-Safety, preferably in Metro/Railways/High speed Rails/RRTS sector.
• Minimum 4 years of post-qualification executive experience in Government/PSUs, of which 3 years should be relevant. OR total 5 years of post-qualification executive experience in civil engineering related infrastructure industries other than the above, of which 3 years should be relevant.
• Age: 32 years.

Section Engineer (Civil-QA/QC) – 1 post

• Experience: relevant experience in Civil Construction QA/QC. Minimum 4 years of post-qualification executive experience in Government/PSUs, of which 3 years should be relevant. OR total 4 years of post-qualification experience in civil engineering related infrastructure industries other than the above, of which 3 years should be relevant.
• Age: 32 years.

Section Engineer – current pay conditions (both posts)

• Presently working in revised IDA scale ₹ 40000-140000 or equivalent CDA scale in Govt/PSU/Metro Corporations; OR
• at least 1 year in pay scale of ₹ 35000-110000 or higher pay scales or equivalent CDA scale; OR at least 2 years in pay scale of ₹ 30000-120000 or equivalent CDA scale.
• Applicants from the private sector: minimum CTC of ₹ 50,000/- per month.

Engineer – Sr. Grade (M&P) – 1 post

• Experience: minimum 3 years of post-qualification relevant experience in preparation of tender document, administration of contracts, installation, testing & commissioning or maintenance of Machines & Plants in modern urban metro rail systems or in railways.
• Age: 32 years.

Engineer – Jr. Grade (Signalling) – 1 post

• Experience: minimum 2 years of post-qualification relevant experience in Signalling (CBTC/AFTC/PSD) in Metro Rail/Railways.
• Age: 32 years.

Who the rules cover

• Candidates working in Indian Railways, Metro Rail organisations, State or Central Govt. PSUs, Boards or Government organisations may apply on deputation, on the standard terms and conditions of the parent organisation and other entitlements as per GMRC policies.
• Eligible officials and staff of GMRC who have completed at least two years of service as on 3 November 2026 in their present designation and grade may apply through proper channel.
• The age limit does not apply to GMRCL employees. Age relaxation does not apply to officials re-employed in GMRCL after superannuation.

Prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum requirements; possessing them does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. Candidates should refer to the official notification for the discipline-specific eligibility of each post.

Pay for each post is the revised IDA scale shown in the vacancy table. For deputation, pay is as per standard terms and conditions. Deputy General Manager posts on post-superannuation basis carry a consolidated pay of ₹ 1,00,000 per month.

• Engagement is for a minimum of 3 years, extendable up to 5 years based on performance, subject to the organisation's standard terms and conditions.
• For IDA/CDA scale employees, the percentage of HRA may vary according to the place of posting, as per Government guidelines and company policy.
• Other benefits are paid as per Company Policy. Selected candidates get Group medical coverage and Group personal accident insurance coverage as per GMRCL policies.
• Selected candidates are likely to be posted at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat or any other project of GMRC anywhere in Gujarat.

Documents named in the notice

• Detailed curriculum vitae.
• Proof of age: Matriculation/Birth Certificate.
• Educational qualification: SSC marksheet, HSC marksheets, graduation all year/semester marksheets and degree/diploma certificates.
• Experience: experience/service certificates of past employments showing date of joining, date of relieving and department, along with pay details clearly mentioning payscale/CTC.
• Private-sector candidates: copy of the latest CTC break-up with the other documents at the time of online application. Without the CTC break-up the application will not be considered. Form-16 is used to arrive at the current CTC.
• Current organisation: appointment letter, proof of date of joining, latest payslip and Form-16 of the last three years.

Selection comprises Personal Interviews, followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination as per the category prescribed for the post. The process judges knowledge, skills, experience, expertise, aptitude and physical fitness.

• Call letters with time, date and venue are issued to shortlisted applicants through registered email. The venue, date and time of interview will be informed in advance; no interview date is printed in the notice.
• Document verification is done before the interview. Candidates must carry original certificates, otherwise they will not be allowed to attend the interview. Photocopies are to be submitted with the resume at the interview.
• Preference goes to candidates with experience in the same grade or the immediate lower grade with 2 years' experience in the grade. If enough suitable candidates are not available, candidates from a lower pay scale who meet the prescribed qualifications, total experience and age criteria may be considered.
• A request to change the date or venue of the interview will not be entertained.

• Candidates working in PSU/Boards/Government organisations/Metro Rail Corporations must submit an NOC along with the last 5 years' APAR of the present/previous organisation on or before the date of interview. For deputation, the NOC is submitted on or before the interview date.
• Acceptance or rejection of an application is at the sole discretion of the Management. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
• GMRC reserves the right to offer a grade lower than the one applied for.
• A selected candidate must indicate acceptance of the offer within three working days of receiving it; otherwise the next candidate in order of merit is offered the appointment. The Competent Authority may grant an extension depending on exigencies, if requested.
• Impersonation, fabricated documents, false or incorrect statements, suppression of facts or unfair means make a candidate liable for rejection. Canvassing or outside influence regarding selection is a disqualification.
