RITES - Chief Executive Officer Recruitment 2026

Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) has announced 1 vacancy for the post of Chief Executive Officer on a deputation basis under VC No. 23/26 (D). The position carries parent pay plus deputation allowance and other perks as admissible, with a normal deputation tenure of 3 (three) years. Eligible IRSEE officers not more than 57 years of age as on last date of submission of application can apply online from 12 October 2026 to 26 November 2026. Applicants must print a copy of the online application form containing the generated registration number and submit it through the proper channel.

• IRSEE officers of SAG/HAG level
• Not more than 57 years of age as on last date of submission of application
• Must have passed 5 years of annual performance appraisal reports (APARs) with required grading (OS-5, VG-4, G-3, G+F-3.5, Av-2, BA-1)
• Must submit Vigilance/DAR clearance and APARs for the past 05 years through proper channel

The selected Chief Executive Officer will receive the 7th CPC Matrix level- 14 & 15. As per Railway Board guidelines, the employee is entitled to parent pay plus deputation allowance and other perks as admissible on deputation. RITES will be providing Company/Leased Accommodation as per entitlement to the officer who joins RITES on deputation.

The normal tenure of deputation shall be 3 (three) years, which may be extended depending upon the requirement and performance. The Ministry of Railways has conveyed approval for continuance of officers on deputation on exemption from the rule of immediate absorption to RITES for a period of three years beyond 31.08.2023 vide letters No. 2008/PL/45/04 Pt. dated 02.08.2024 and 20.12.2024.

1. Visit the RITES official website career section at http://www.rites.com to complete the online registration.
2. Generate the registration number upon successful online submission of the application form.
3. Print a copy of the online application form containing the generated registration number.
4. Sign the printed application form and attach a detailed CV along with required documents including No Objection Certificate, Vigilance/DAR clearance, and APARs for the past 5 years.
5. Send an advance copy of the application with the detailed CV directly to [email protected] ↗ for early record.
6. Forward the complete application through the respective administrative officer (HOD) to reach RITES within 45 days (by 26 November 2026) from the date of issue of the vacancy notice.

Candidates are evaluated based on a total of 100 marks distributed across multiple criteria:

• Educational Qualification: 15 marks (10 marks for basic minimum qualification in relevant discipline and 5 marks for additional qualifications with 1 mark per relevant additional qualification up to maximum 5).
• Vigilance/DAR: 10 marks (10 marks for no vigilance history or cases closed without any action; 7.5 marks for cases closed with minor penalty action; 5 marks for cases closed with major penalty action).
• Performance in Service: 25 marks based on APARs for the past 5 years.
• Performance in Interview: 50 marks allocated for domain knowledge, work experience, managerial competency, and overall suitability, to be decided by the Interview Committee.

Candidates securing a score of 60% or above shall be qualified for being considered as per the order of merit in the merit list.
