RITES - Group General Manager Recruitment 2026

RITES Limited (A Navratna Enterprise of Govt. of India) is filling 1 post of Group General Manager (Civil) at Mumbai on deputation. The post is open only to IRSE officials of SAG/NFSAG/SG level. The pay is 7th CPC matrix Level-13 or Level-14, and the officer is entitled to parent pay plus deputation allowance as per Rly. Board guidelines. The normal tenure of deputation is 3 (three) years. Applicants register online on the RITES website (www.rites.com), and the application forwarded through the competent authority must reach RITES by 28 October 2026. The circular, Vacancy Circular No. 21/26 (D) dated 14 September 2026, is addressed to the General Manager(P), Zonal Railways/PUs/RDSO and the Secretary, Railway Board, New Delhi.

The RITES Group General Manager (Civil) post is filled on deputation from the Indian Railway Service of Engineers. The circular lists these eligibility conditions:

• IRSE officials of SAG/NFSAG/SG level are required for this position.
• Vacancy as printed: 01 No SAG/NFSAG OR SG IRSE officer with 18 years of Group A service.
• Age: the IRSE officer must be not more than 57 years of age as on the last date of submission of application.

The application form also asks whether the applicant has been debarred from deputation and whether the cooling-off period has been completed, with the date of return from the previous deputation where applicable.

• Pay scale: 7th CPC matrix Level-13 for an IRSE officer with 18 years of Group A service; 7th CPC matrix Level-14 for an IRSE officer.
• Deputation allowance: As per Rly. Board guidelines, the employee is entitled to parent pay plus deputation allowance and other perks as admissible on deputation.
• Accommodation: RITES will be providing Company/Leased Accommodation as per entitlement to the officer who joins RITES on deputation.
• Tenure: The normal tenure of deputation shall be 3 (three) years, which may be extended depending upon the requirement and performance.
• Posting: The post is located at Mumbai. However, the official can be posted anywhere in the Country or abroad as per requirement.
• Exemption from absorption: The Ministry of Railways has approved the continuance of officers on deputation in RITES on exemption from the rule of immediate absorption for a period of three years beyond 31 August 2023, vide letters No. 2008/PL/45/04 Pt. dated 2 August 2024 and 20 December 2024.

The application has an online part and a forwarded part. The forwarded application with the required documents must reach RITES within 45 (forty five) days from the date of issue of the vacancy circular, that is, by 28 October 2026.

1. Apply online in the registration format available in the Career Section of the RITES website, http://www.rites.com.
2. On submission, the system generates a "Registration No." on top of the online form.
3. Print the online application form showing the registration number, sign it and attach it to the application in the prescribed format (Annexure III) along with a detailed CV.
4. Send the application through your respective administrative officer (HOD). The forwarding letter to the Railways asks willing officials to submit applications well in advance through the Railway Board to ensure timely receipt.
5. Send an advance copy of the application in the Annexure III format, along with the detailed CV, directly to [email protected] ↗ at the earliest.

The Annexure III proforma asks for name, gender, service, department, category, date of birth, DITS (date of entry into Time Scale), present pay band with grade pay and basic pay, present designation and Railway, contact details (email, office and residence telephone, mobile), educational qualifications, experience details, previous deputation or foreign assignment details, and the debarment and cooling-off declarations. It ends with a signed certificate that the details are true and that the applicant is eligible under the circular.

RITES will select the Group General Manager (Civil) using the marking criteria in Annexure II, "Weightage Distribution for Deputation of Officials to RITES", out of a total of 100 points.

Candidates securing a score of 60% or above shall be qualified for being considered, as per the order of merit in the Merit List.
