Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum, Biomedical Technology Wing, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram has released the recruitment notification Advt. No. P&A.II/46/RA.I/P.8264/BMT-SCTIMST/2026 dated 22.10.2026 for 1 Research Associate I post under the DBT Funded Project entitled “Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Devices” P.8264. This recruitment is conducted by the Biomedical Technology Wing of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, located in Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram, for a DBT-funded project focusing on minimally invasive cardiovascular devices. The appointment is initially for a period of 6 months and is likely to be extended up to 13.06.2029.

There is a total of 1 vacancy available for the Research Associate I post under the project.

Essential Qualification

• M.Tech / M.E. / Ph.D in Engineering / Technology, with B.Tech in Biomedical / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or equivalent and at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Essential Experience

• (i) 3 years Research / Industrial / Academic experience after M.Tech / M.E.
• (ii) for Ph.D candidates experience is not essential.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in Research and Development on Medical Devices / Industrial / Academic experience such as Product Design, Finite element analysis, Computational fluid dynamics, Prototyping, Medical device development and testing, Quality system documentation.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years as on 01.11.2026.

Selected candidates will receive monthly emoluments of Rs. 58,000/- + 18% HRA. The appointment is initially for a period of 6 months and is likely to be extended upto 13.06.2029.

Research & Development of medical device for minimally invasive cardiovascular applications involving: product design, computer aided design, analysis such as FEM, CFD, prototyping, in vitro testing, in vivo testing, technology transfer, documentation.

Institutions issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar.

The applications will be screened and eligible candidates will be called for an Interview to be conducted at the Biomedical Technology Wing of the Institute at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 012. Intimation regarding the schedule of interview will be sent to their email id provided in the ONLINE application form. Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of a qualifying nature will be conducted for initial screening and only qualified candidates will be called for interview. Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.

• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
• Experience wherever prescribed means experience gained AFTER acquiring the prescribed essential qualification.
